Elliptical Pelham

 The elliptical Pelham is a 45 mm lozenge, stronger than the control plate due to its smaller surface area. As a result, a horse that pushes its tongue against the bit to take control will drop back and tuck its chin, restoring better control. The Pelham has attachments for two reins, one near the mouthpiece and the other at the end of the shank. These reins act similarly to the curb and bridoon reins on a double bridle. Some riders, less familiar with handling two sets of reins, prefer to use rein connectors—leather loops that link one ring to the other at the mouthpiece. The rein is then attached to this Pelham system, allowing the rider to ride with a single set of reins. The Pelham also has the shortest shank (55 mm) in our entire range, which softens the pressure at the top and the leverage on the mouthpiece and poll. Chain and hooks are included
